Do you desire to have a life changing experience with God, while bringing transformation to the world? YWAM’s entry-level training program, which is called DTS (Discipleship Training School), is 5-6 month program dedicated to knowing God and learning how to make Him known. DTS is a time set apart to learn how to develop a lifetime of obedience and devotion.
The Discipleship Training School emphasizes heart transformation and character development, not just the accumulation of knowledge. It is an intense, hands-on missions training program that focuses on developing a commitment and love for Jesus and compassion for the world. DTS is a journey to discover the heart of God and learn His nature, character, and ways.
Revival and Refugee DTS
The foundation for the 2019 DTS in Larnaca, Cyprus is Romans 8:19, “For creation waits in eager longing for the revealing of the sons of God.” We believe that God is calling His sons and daughters to arise for such a time as this. Refugees are being displaced from their home countries and we have the amazing opportunity here in Larnaca to extend the love of Christ and call them into the family of God.
We believe that as we cultivate a lifestyle of worship and prayer, we will see transformation in our own lives, and we will bring transformation to the nations. This is Revival! Throughout the entirety of this school, you will have the opportunity to cultivate a lifestyle of revival and reach out to refugees both within Cyprus and the surrounding nations.
Dates: September 30th 2019-February 28th 2020
Cost: 3000 Euro (not including additional outreach expenses)
The DTS majors on the two elements of YWAM’s motto: To Know God and to Make Him Known. During the first three months called the “Lecture Phase”, you will be discipled with other students who are also seeking God’s heart. Our teachers come from dynamic, national and international ministries to share biblical truths that will help you know God at a deeper level.
Each week you will experience time alone with God, powerful intercession and worship times, classroom instruction, small group interaction, one-on-one discipleship, cultural training, outreach to refugees, fellowship with speakers, staff and other students, and free time to rest, play, and process all that God is doing in your life!
After the Lecture Phase you will enter the second half of the Discipleship Training School called the “Outreach Phase.” The Outreach Phase provides an opportunity to apply what you learned in the classroom through an intensive, hands-on, cross-cultural mission experience. On your outreach you will be exposed to a wide variety of mission work. Some of the opportunities may include: ministry to orphans and widows, building friendships with university students, teaching English, discipling new believers, praying for the sick and needy, and sharing the Gospel in public and private settings. Our outreach will be focused on serving refugees in the Middle East.
Please keep in mind that the successful completion of both DTS phases is the required first step to become a full-time worker with YWAM or attend any of YWAM’s other courses.
What does the process look like for me to do a DTS?
The first step is to really seek the Lord. If He leads you to do a Discipleship Training School with us, that’s wonderful! The next step would be filling out an application. Once we get your completed application and three references, our staff will spend some serious time praying for you. Then, as we officially accept you, we send you a welcome packet with all the info you need to prepare for your DTS. Your DTS staff will continue to pray for you and will be available to answers your questions as they arise. And then the best part happens…we get to meet you!
Will you join us for this life-changing adventure? Will you say yes to bringing transformation to this part of the world?
